Kinesiology for Kids

As a parent myself, I love being able to support and hold space for children as a Kinesiologist.

Kinesiology is a gentle modality and because children are so open it can be a great support and shift to their overall wellbeing.

The beautiful thing about Kinesiology is that children can feel in control and empowered in their treatment because they get to actively participate.

What can Kinesiology help kids with?

Kinesiology can help kids deal with any stress they may be experiencing by processing their emotions and calming their nervous system.

Some issues may include:

  • Anxiety

  • Behavioural issues

  • Bullying

  • Emotional pain

  • Friendship challenges

  • School refusal

  • School stress

  • Self-esteem

  • Stressful events & Trauma

  • Withdrawn behaviour

Kinesiology can help children to;

  • Create a resilient nervous system

  • Feel empowered in their wellbeing and care

  • Process emotions

    & more

What happens in a Kids Kinesiology Session?

Each Kinesiology session is unique to the individual child, their needs and personality. As a Kinesiologist it is my priority to establish what flows best for the child.

The start of a Kinesiology session may start with a chat, with the child and their guardian. If the child isn't comfortable talking straight away, the parent may contact me before the sessions with what they want to work on or hand me a note on the day. I explain that they will get to lay on their back on the massage table and move their arm up and down to help them feel better.

Throughout the session I use ‘cool’ things such as crystals, cards, sprays, oils and more.

Age Guidelines

Babies & Toddlers

Babies and toddlers can have their energy balanced using their parents as a surrogate. Parents can book in for a kids session and I balance the baby or toddler’s energy on the parent and include home reinforcement. Babies and toddlers are always welcome in my clinic, however because toddlers may not sit still, sessions are just as potent if the parent comes by themselves.

School Aged Children (5 - 13yrs)

Kids this age are generally happy to come for a kinesiology session and lay on the massage table, talk about how they are feeling and use all the beautiful healing remedies to help work through their stress. Parents can sit by for support and chime in if necessary.

Older Kids (13+)

It is up to the older kids on how they would like their session to run. They may arrive with their parents and then their parent may go for a walk or a cuppa to offer some privacy.

How long are the Kids Kinesiology sessions?

Sessions run between 30 minutes and up to 60 minutes depending on the age and the child's needs.
